From her pioneering performances of the 1970s, through her legendary artistic collaboration with Ulay, to major retrospectives and performances at leading museums worldwide, Abramović has helped establish performance art as a major artistic medium. She received the Golden Lion for Best Artist at the Venice Biennale for her acclaimed work Balkan Baroque.

Her works have been exhibited in some of the world’s most prestigious museums and galleries, including the Museum of Modern Art, Centre Pompidou, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Royal Academy of Arts.
